Positive Youth Development Workshop

Workshop Description: This 2-day workshop will increase participants' knowledge in the current issues and pressures of being an adolescent. It will encompass topics such as drugs/alcohol, Internet, media, depression/suicidal ideation, relationships and more, demonstrating how it affects adolescents' emotional, social, and mental wellbeing. Participants will learn methods for improving character and encouraging healthy choices in adolescents, thus resulting in positive and healthy attitudes, improved decision-making, relationships and academic improvement.

Speakers include:
* Ohio Attorney General's Office
* Suicide Prevention Coalition of Summit County
* Akron Children's Hospital-Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program
* Marriage Works Ohio- Sonji Gregory PCC-S

Who should attend? Anyone who is working with or interested in youth and wants to ensure a better future for them. Participants will be provided with a wealth of resources to utilize in their professions.

Cost: $55.00 including lunch.

13 CEU's offered through the Ohio CSWMFT Board. Approval #MCST060710.

Graduate Credit: Is offered through Ashland University for an additional fee of $163.00. Participants will be able to register for graduate credit on the first day of the workshop. Graduate Credit will be awarded upon completion of all course requirements/assignments.
